In recent months, we’ve had more therapists, counsellors, and healing professionals reach out asking how to bring crystals into their sessions,  and we love seeing this integration of energy work and emotional care.

Crystals can offer a gentle layer of support in therapeutic settings. Whether you’re working with clients in person, holding space online, or moving through your own healing journey, the right crystal can bring calm, clarity, and a sense of grounding that enhances the emotional work being done.

Here’s our guide to the most supportive crystals for therapy rooms, healing spaces, and personal practice.

Why Use Crystals in Therapy?

Crystals aren’t a solution, but they are a support. They help regulate the nervous system, create a sense of safety, and subtly shift the energy of a space.

Some practitioners offer palm stones for clients to hold during sessions, while others place crystals nearby. Either way, they create an atmosphere of calm presence and energetic steadiness, like a deep breath held in stone form.

Our Favourite Crystals for Therapy Work

Amethyst

Amethyst is known for its calming energy. It’s ideal for easing stress, quieting the mind, and inviting emotional clarity—a go-to for any healing space.

Best for: Overwhelm, anxiety, and mental clarity.
Use as: Palm stone, raw crystal, or tower.

Rose Quartz

The stone of unconditional love and emotional healing, Rose Quartz, softens emotional walls and supports deep heart work.

Best for: Grief, self-worth, and inner child connection.
Use as: Palm stone or a raw piece placed nearby.

Lepidolite

Rich in natural lithium, Lepidolite helps balance mood and calm the nervous system. It’s supportive in moments of stress, burnout, or major life changes.

Best for: Anxiety support and emotional stability.
Use as: Palm stone or raw crystal.

Note: Lepidolite is not water-safe — cleanse with smoke, selenite, or intention.

Smoky Quartz

Smoky Quartz helps draw out tension and anchor the energy of a space. It’s particularly useful for trauma-informed work and body-based modalities.

Best for: Grounding, protection, and energetic release.
Use as: Palm stone, raw crystal, or tower.

Other Crystal Tools to Support Emotional Work

While palm stones are our first recommendation, other forms can enhance your space in different ways.

Towers and Points

Towers bring focus and direction to a room’s energy.

  • Clear Quartz – amplifies intentions and clears the mind
  • Selenite – uplifts and purifies the energy of a space
  • Golden Healer – offers warmth, healing and deep support

Raw Crystals

Unpolished and energetically potent, raw crystals bring natural energy into a room.

  • Apophyllite – clears emotional heaviness and invites lightness
  • Pyrite – encourages confidence and inner strength, particularly helpful in self-worth work

Cleansing Tools

Crystals absorb energy. If you’re using them with clients, we strongly recommend cleansing them between sessions.

This can be as simple as:

  • Keeping them on a selenite plate or in a bowl
  • Using smoke such as Palo Santo or Sage
  • Taking a quiet moment to set an intention to release residual energy

Creating a Healing Ritual

Whether you’re a practitioner or working through your own healing journey, crystals can help create a sense of rhythm and ritual.
Keep a palm stone nearby. Offer one to a client during moments of vulnerability. Hold one during meditation or breathwork. Let the practice grow in a way that feels intuitive to you.
